Building & Construction

The building and construction industry employs more than 700,000 persons and accounts for about seven per cent of gross domestic product. It is closely linked to the economic cycles of the country and generally accounts for over half of gross domestic capital expenditure.

The industry is comprised of two main sectors: residential construction including private houses and medium density residential buildings and commercial construction which includes commercial offices, factories, schools, hospitals etc.

The industry utilises a wide range of equipment that ranges from compact construction equipment – mini excavators & skid steer, through to large equipment including wheel loaders, excavators, scrapers, track-type tractors, and carrydozers.
