About Us
The Caterpillar Institute (Vic-Tas) is a joint venture between Caterpillar and
William Adams Pty Ltd. Caterpillar is the largest manufacturer of heavy
machinery in the world and has a strong dealer network throughout Australia
and the rest of the world. William Adams is the dealer for Caterpillar
here in Victoria and Tasmania and their prime business is the sale, service
and rental of caterpillar equipment.
The Caterpillar Institute has set a new benchmark in the provision
of quality vocational education and training for our related industries
and customers. We have achieved this by focusing learning and development
on industry solutions that satisfy your business and professional needs.
Our industry specific learning programs utilise new and emerging
technologies with immediate access to machines, components and simulators
that will reinforce learning. The learning resources utilised throughout
all our courses are developed through close consultation with industry
and are continuously reviewed and updated in order to keep up with ever
changing technology and processes and ensure relevancy.
Our facilities are equipped with the equipment and tooling required
to ensure that learners have the same exposure during training as they
do in the workplace while on-the-job. All programs expose learners to
technical, technological, business and interpersonal competencies.
Our main training centres are located in Melbourne and we also
have access to training facilities in:

- Horsham;
- Mildura;
- Swan Hill;
- Traralgon;
- Burnie;
- Hobart; and
- Launceston.
